The Government of Jharkhand and known private organisations have offered various scholarships to the students of the state. The scholarships aim to financially support the meritorious and deserving students of the state.
The scholarships are for students who are permanent residents of the state. The scholarships will help to fund the student’s education at the school level and college level. The students will be able to pursue education without any financial hurdles. The state government is offering various scholarships to improve education in the state.
List of scholarships
Jharkhand State post matric scholarship
This scholarship is for students who have passed Class 10 and want to pursue studies from Class 11 to post-graduation. The family’s earnings should be less than Rs. 1,50,000 annually for the BC category and 2,50,000 per year for the SC/ST category.
This scholarship offers a maintenance allowance of Rs. 7,500 and an ad-hoc grant of Rs. 1,000. Supporting documents required are a resident certificate, bonafide certificate, a photograph of the student, caste certificate, income certificate, previous year’s mark sheet, bank passbook and a copy of the application.
BCCL ke Laal and BCCL Ki Laadli
This scholarship is for the kids of BCCL employees who have passed class 10. The student must be living within BCCL’s 25 km radius. The minimum percentage of marks required in the board exam is 60%. The income of the family should not exceed Rs. 60,000/year.
This scholarship offers free educational training through online classes and video conferencing for competitive exams for premier institutes in the future. Supporting documents required are a registration card for the class 10 board, an admit card for the class 10 board, an income certificate and an Aadhaar card.
Combined counselling board scholarship
Students who are pursuing a diploma, degree or post-graduation course can apply for this scholarship. The students should get a minimum of 40% - 50% marks in the last qualifying exam.
This scholarship offers students Rs. 1,00,000 - 3,00,000. Supporting documents required are two passport-size photographs, a mark sheet of the last examination, a counselling letter of CCB and an Aadhaar card/voter ID/school or college ID proof.
Higher education
There are 649 Colleges Jharkhand which offer higher education courses in various disciplines. The various colleges offer undergraduate, postgraduate and doctorate-level courses. Students can apply online for their preferred courses in their choice of institutes.
